But it was insane - playing GTAV looked like a slideshow. Figured that a 27" gaming monitor would look good enough, considering that I also play those games on a massive widescreen plasma TV. At least for me it does.Ĭase in point - hooked my 360 up to it. I wish I'd just bought an IPS panel, cuz even tho 144hz makes all other monitors feel sluggish after you've used it awhile, it makes framerate drops FAR more noticeable. Drops down to the 40s are far less noticeable to me than when it gets down to the 30s. This is more like what I'd expect from a modern game w my specs. W 60fps cap and all the settings on ultra except detail on medium and shadow quality on medium, I'm getting near-constant 60fps in Sapienza, with it only going down to like 50 behind the church where it originally dropped down to 24fps for me. The trick seems to be to cap it at 60fps - it always crashes eventually when I leave it uncapped, and it coincides with my GPU fan running loud as a mofo. How's yr performance in dx12? Once I got it running properly, it's pretty stunning for me. Messaggio originale di AstroAss:To the OP - worked for me! Needed to run the game and change my refresh rate on the screen from 165 to 160 and back to 165 to force the screen to restart and the game was magically unlocked! Not ideal, but far better than dealing with DX11's frame drops and the sad sad 60fps cap! :Tie::Original_Assassin::Fleur_de_Lys::47_duck::47_barcode::47_thumb_up:Īwesome - I'm glad it actually worked for someone, cuz it was just freak luck that I found the fix in the first place. Uncapped it eventually crashes the display driver. Still tho, with my Nvidia control panel set to a 60FPS cap, the game runs like a dream for me in DX12. The odd thing is, I hafta do this every time I launch the game, cuz the 144hz setting still isn't saving to the config file. My monitor's control panel showed the game at 60hz before, but it's 144 again once I do this. I turned the screen back on, and well waddaya know - suddenly the game's running at 144hz and the gamma problem is fixed. Last night I happened to test out DX12 just for the hell of it, and this time I accidentally turned my monitor off while trying to crank down the contrast and brightness. I'm on an Nvidia 970, and DX12 has been a sh*tshow from the start, with recent updates making it playable but weird and buggy - it was capped to 60fps, the visuals had an insanely washed out look, and changing the config file to 144hz would always just revert back to 60hz once the game had been launched. I seem to remember someone else mentioning overly bright gamma in DX12 mode, and I've seen other people asking about getting the game to run at 120 or 144hz. Ok, so this is weird, but hopefully it helps someone else on this board.
